Anil Patel, Clearstone Venture Partners
Anil Patel is a principal at Clearstone Venture Partners. Prior to Clearstone, Mr. Patel was at Azure Capital Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners, where he focused on early-stage investments in a variety of technology-driven companies, ranging from semiconductors to communications systems to consumer software. Prior to his career in venture capital, Mr. Patel was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and a software developer and systems consultant at Information Management Consultants, Inc. Mr. Patel holds A.B. degrees in Economics and Philosophy from Stanford University, an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
Michael Banks, D.E. Shaw Group
Michael Banks is a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and an executive of the D. E. Shaw Group's venture capital unit. He has more than 17 years of experience as an entrepreneur, strategic consultant, and venture capitalist working in the technology industry. Prior to joining the D. E. Shaw group, Mr. Banks was a managing director of Palisades Ventures, a Los Angeles-based venture capital fund; a managing director of Steamboat Ventures, the venture capital arm of The Walt Disney Company; and a managing director of Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corporation. Before his venture capital career, Mr. Banks held management positions are Stanford Consulting Group, the Law and Economics Consulting Group, and Cornerstone Research. Mr. Banks received a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in international policy studies from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at U.C.L.A.
Steven Berger, iParadigms
Steven Berger has over 30 years experience as owner, President and CEO of various private companies including New York Fabrics (sold to JoAnn Stores), NYF Properties and iParadigms. Mr. Berger has been an investor and advisor to various early stage companies, often leading early stage investment rounds and serving on the board of directors. These companies include iParadigms, AngelPoints, Home Comfort Zones, Veodia, and Alight Planning, among others. He also serves as Chairman of The Chief Executive Roundtable, a local group of CEO's. He has been a mentor for an entrepreneurial class at UC Berkeley, and has served on the Board of College Preparatory School. Mr. Berger also serves as Chairman of The Partners Program, an educational non-profit focused on programs for underserved Oakland middle school youth. Mr. Berger is a graduate of Stanford University.
Guillaume Cohen, Veodia
Prior to founding Veodia, Guillaume was head of the Enterprise Business at Envivio, a spin-off of France-Telecom, and the leader in MPEG-4 and h.264 technology for IP Television. At Envivio, he started and grew the enterprise market into the most profitable business unit. His products were deployed at hundreds of customers including Citigroup, Cornell University, Oracle, and the European Commission. He also initiated the Enterprise Work Group at the Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA) and was a panel speaker at many streaming media conferences. He holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and ENSTA in Paris, France.
